Under the Singapore Employment Act, all employers must provide mandatory Key Employment Terms (KETs) in writing to employees covered under the Act within 14 days from the start of employment.

Mandatory Items in KETs:

  • Full name of employer and employee
  • Job title, main duties, and employment start date
  • Working hours, number of working days per week, and rest days
  • Salary period, basic rate of pay, and fixed allowances
  • Overtime payment rates and itemised deductions
  • Statutory medical insurance and hospitalisation leave entitlements
